"Hospice of Northwest Michigan provides comprehensive physical, emotional and spiritual care to individuals and their families during and following life-limiting illness.
Hospice exists to provide support and care for persons who have a life limiting illness, with a life expectancy measured in months or days, rather than years. Hospice recognizes dying as a normal process and we do not attempt to either prolong or hasten this process.
Hospice exists to assist individuals, their partners and their families in preparing for the end of one’s life in a way that preserves the best possible quality of life, when curative treatments are no longer possible. This is achieved by providing appropriate care and by fostering a caring community that is sensitive to their needs.
All Hospice Programs provide comprehensive care: skilled clinical care, assistance negotiating the health care system, basic personal care, respite, financial assistance counseling, and bereavement services.
